In Spain, in the Canary Islands, we found the town of La Orotava, which is northwest of the island of Tenerife with 207.31 square km is the largest municipality Tenerife, where there is more population in La Orotava or “Villa” as it is called by its residents and neighbors, but is also shared by other areas such as La Perdoma, SanAntonio, Benijos, Barroso, Florida, and Aguamansa Pinoleris.
It is believed that the name of La Orotava, was released by the Guanches formerly calledArautava or Arautapala that area, although no one knows their exact origin. The Guanches that lived in La Orotava, they did on their shores, in the larger ravines and slopes
where it was easier to get food and means to survive.
La Orotava takes great care in his appearance, especially during the holidays, the streets are decorated in a special form which also kept the town pretty neat.
Some monuments and attractions of La Orotava are:
The church of La Concepción, a national monument, was built in the mid XVIII. The church of San Juan Bautista, located in the neighborhood of Farrobo, in the Village of Above, the hospital of the Holy Trinity and Church of San Francisco, church and former convent of Santo Domingo de Guzmán etc. ..
We also find historic houses such as La Orotava, the home of the balconies of Lercaro, Monteverde, Ponte and Franchy etc. .. are a typical old houses and mansions.
Some are devoted to events even in some of them are small hermitages.
In La Orotava find mills, where they were dedicated and some of them still working to make the grinding gofio CEREAL, have come to count up to 13 mills of which still exist 10 and 3 continue to work with relatively modern technology.
In La Orotava is important to make a stop at the Liceo Taoro (ex falnasterio of Taoro) with its impressive gardens to come today as various events take place like weddings, meetings, etc … take a stroll through the Plaza de la Constitution known to slum dwellers, ”Plaza kiosk, kiosk by the popular” Anita “, enjoy the gardens of the Marquis of the Quinta Roja or “Victoria Gardens” which is the pantheon of Don Diego de Ponte Marquis de la Quinta Roja, which was built by her mother Dona Sebastiana de Castillo.
The town of Orotava in Tenerife is form in stepped down slope, crossed by roads. These roads are design drawing in representation of energy channels and chakras of Eastern culture.
Several beaches such as the beach Bollullo, the Patos and Ancon are not very easy to get to. But they are beautiful beaches are steep because of their location.
La Orotava is well known for its Corpus Christy and the celebration of San Isidro Labrador. In Corpus Christy they draw in the floor religious motifs and painted with flower petals and colour sand, they called it “alfombras” (rugs). Also they have a dance party where all participants enjoy attending with their traditional Canarian costumes.
La Orotava is the pride of the slum dwellers and admired by visitors.

Villa de Arafo is a town located in the Southeast of the island of Tenerife, in a valley that takes the name of the bordering municipality, the Valley of Güímar, with which he limits by the South, in addition makes by the north with the municipal term to Candelaria and by the west with Santa Ursula and the Orotava.

The population of Arafo is concentrated in a ninety percent in urban center, Barrio del Carmen and Barrio del Fielato. The coast of Arafo is formed by a low and rocky beach, it is worth mention the Beach of Lima.

This beach also gives name to one of its villages. About one hundred twenty meters above sea level we have the village of El Carretón, and around 200 meters above sea level there is the village of Hidalga,
The town of Arafo has a very calm and clean atmosphere, in which the grapevine predominates, that produces the excellent wines of Arafo. Here we can also see very many fruit trees and great variety of flowers.

Arafo has a great musical and cultural tradition, their musical local band is very well known.

This musical tradition begins in the middle of XIX Century, with the creation of the first band, the Music Band Numancia, later on their changed the name of the band to Sociedad Filarmónica La Nivaria, at the moment exists in the town the Band “La Candelaria ”.

But the musical activity in the town is not only limited to the bands, also there are several chorales and musical groupings of prestige, among them we emphasized: the Chorale “Maria Auxiliadora”, the folkloric grouping “Ayesa”, “Aires de Arafo”, the lírica grouping “Ayesa”, etc.

Arona is located to the south of the island and is dedicated mainly to the tourism.

Its pleasant climate throughout the year, with temperatures around the 20 degrees attracts tourists of all parts of the world. It has of best beaches of the island. Among them we can emphasize the beach of America, las Galletas, the Cristianos beach, Playa Las Vistas, the Arenita, the Callao, the Whale, the Nightgown, etc.

With the height of the tourism by the end of 70 years passage of being a municipality eminently agriculturist like all those of the Canary Islands to dedicate itself to the tourism.

At the outset two differentiated tourist nuclei existed: the zone of the Christians and the one of the Americas. At the moment and due to the tremendous city-planning development they are united not being able to differentiate where the other finishes and begins. It has a very good hotel infrastructure.

Hotels like Villa Cortes, the Conqueror, the Palms, Great Tinerfe, the Siesta, in all of them we can enjoy a great variety of services, strolls outdoors guided activities, routes in bicycle, courses of swimming, saunas and massages, etc. In the neighborhoods of these hotels we have great amount of stores, bars and restaurants in which to be able to buy any thing or to enjoy any type of food, in a Chinese, Italian restaurant, etc.

In its beaches a great variety of activities is carried out, thus in the beach the views are celebrated international championships voley-beach, soccer-beach, championships of swimming, triatrol, speedboat racing, aquatic ski, trips in controllable parachutes by a motor boat, etc. In the beach the americas are celebrated a great festival of music the well-known as They are Latin that begins at night and finishes to the morning of the following day. In his territory also it is cultivated but its main activity is the tourism. Thus we can see cultures of tropical fruits like papayas, avocados, handles. And as in all the platanera occurs, and the tomatoes.

The climate and orography of Arico are very similar to the neighboring towns of Fasnia and Güímar.
It has like them a territory very escarped who go from the Cañadas del Teide, zone that surpasses the 2000 meters above sea level, until the coast. In this land so escarped it is possible to cultivate almost anything. Fruit trees, grapevine, bananas, potatoes, several tropical fruits, but in special, tomatos and bananas. Being those that greater percentage of production they have with difference.

Arico is one of the biggest towns of the island, with 178 square kilometers of total surface and 58 kilometers approximately from Santa Cruz de Tenerife. We can distinguish differentiated population centers as they are Arico el Viejo, Arico el Nuevo, Villa Arico and el Río.

In this town, several small villages are differentiated. Thus the Small village of Icor, near Villa de Arico, has a very traditional architecture of the island. In the small village of the Cisnera and Teguedite, near also Villa Arico, an important center of pottery existed. In Arico the New one we have several typical houses that we should visit, like the one of Pereza de Ayala ,the house of Rodriguez de Acero, or the one of the Patio of Don Diego.

We can enjoy a great variety of rural houses where we can stay, make senderismo and bathe in his innumerable beaches and coves along the coast. Special mention deserves in this point a the place called Porís de Abona. Tourist place of Arico where we can practice nautical sports, to bathe in the coasts or the swimming pools, or to practice any sport in the different sport fields.
