Tenerife Floods – November 2009

It all started around 3pm on Monday 16th November 2009.  I was coming out of a restaurant and it just started pouring down with rain.  As the rain continued, traffic started to build up, so we left an hour earlier to pick up our girl from school.  The trip normally takes 10 minutes, but it took us around 40 minutes this time, and the rain continued.

We left the school at 17:30 to start our “10 minute” trip home to Los Realejos.  We finally got in at 21:45, over 4 hours later!  Stuck in the car with a 5 year old and an 11 month old baby (that had flu), was no fun.
